This October, Valencia will be soaked in fashion, and not just any old fashion; a 360º experience. The second edition of the Clec Fashion Festival will be held on 30th and 31st October at the Hemisfèric of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències de Valencia. The event opens the doors of the city to designers as renowned as Custo Barcelona and Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, giving attendees the chance to experience design first-hand.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that this festival goes one step further, encouraging you to celebrate fashion in all its forms, as it is the only one that brings together a wide range of creativity such as photography, beauty, film, art, music and gastronomy. A spectacle in which artists, sustainability and industry share the limelight, giving the public the chance to experience the world of fashion from the inside. Under the slogan “In the mornings we learn, in the afternoons we experiment and in the evenings we celebrate fashion”, this year we have a wealth of activities that will leave no one unmoved.

Mornings for learning

The early part of the festival will be split between Fashion Talks and Cooking Shows. A round table discussion with the great Valencian designers Juan Andrés Mompó, Presen Rodríguez, Enrique Lodares and Amparo Chordá, who will take you on a journey through the history, trends and evolution of style. What’s more, the renowned photographer Juan Carlos Vega will do a photo shoot with these wonderful designers.

The Cookingshow allows us to experience one of the things that sets Valencia apart, its cuisine. With the creative inspiration that comes from the bringing together of designers and chefs, you will get a first-hand look at how irresistible dishes are prepared thanks to a masterful showcooking experience. A hallmark of the Clec Fashion Festival that you’ll surely never forget.

Finally, you can do your bit and make your voice heard in the most sustainable discussion group. This year, Las Naves and its “Fashion + Sustainable” think tank will be taking the floor to talk about fast fashion and listen to anyone who wishes to take part. To round off the more eco-friendly side of the festival, there will be a sustainable fashion show by students from design schools in the Valencia Region.

Evenings of experiences

As if it were a fleeting visit to the most elegant part of New York, the Hemisfèric will become the meeting point for renowned designers. With names such as Dolores Cortés and Ágatha Ruíz de la Prada, the fashion shows will go down a storm. However, this year’s big name is Custo Barcelona, who will delight us with his new collection, as well as his Fashion Film, both launched at the New York fashion week.

In keeping with Clec’s groundbreaking style, we combine fashion with the art of film and photography. Combining the screening of the best films by the renowned and award-winning director Víctor Claramunt, with a round table on cinema where we will learn the importance of communication and visuals in fashion and Fashion Films from Alex Estil-les and the aforementioned Valencian director.

Finally, we will shine the spotlight on photography, taking a look at the career of the famous photographer Peter Lindbergh, now deceased, with the help of his colleague Gerardo Ortíz. Furthermore, the latter will photograph the most coveted Valencian models from the 90s.

Nights to celebrate

When the sun goes down, the fun never stops. At the Clec Factory party, inspired by the visuals of the famous Andy Warhol, Valencia’s essence is recreated. Furthermore, it will be during this event that the Clec Super Star award will be awarded to four artists in the categories of fashion, art, communication and emerging artists. Dressed in cyan, magenta, yellow and black, Valencia will relive, for one night only, those parties that were brimming with fashion and celebrities in Warhol’s studio.

To sum up, on 30th and 31st October Unique València opens the doors of the Clec Fashion Festival, bringing you closer to fashion, design, creativity and the awakening of new talents under the knowledge of the great successes. A unique experience to awaken all your senses and bring sustainability, trends and a whole lot of art to the forefront.
